Method

How we work

Frontier Intelligence is a sourcing and verification method first. Here is what happens between a claim appearing and a figure reaching our pages.

01The pipeline

Collect, verify, structure, maintain.

What goes in, what happens to it, and what comes out.

In

  • Papers and preprints
  • Press wires
  • Government laboratories
  • Company newsrooms
  • Filings
  • Public registers
  1. 01

    Collect

    We watch the primary record.

Research papers and preprints, peer-reviewed journals, press wires, government laboratory announcements, company newsrooms and regulatory filings, every day.

  2. 02

    Verify

We check it against the source.

We check numbers, names, dates and quotes against their sources before we publish, using automated checks and editorial review. What we cannot verify is left out or marked as unverified.

If a check failsHeld back for review.

  3. 03

    Structure

Each company gets a sourced record.

Companies become profiles: location, technology, founding date, people, funding and listings, each fact with its source, matched to public registers where one exists.

  4. 04

    Maintain

    The record stays current.

News goes out daily. Records are updated as rounds close and milestones are verified, and corrected when a reader sends a source.

A reader’s correction, or a new source, sends a record back to Verify.

Out

PublicationsDaily news and analysis, linked to its sources.

Company intelligenceOrganisation profiles, each fact with its source.

The same pipeline runs behind every business we operate.

02Sources

Where facts come from.

We start from the primary record and work outwards. Other reporting is where a check starts, and the figure is then traced to the document behind it.

Research

Peer-reviewed journals and preprint servers, and announcements from government and national laboratories.

Companies

Company newsrooms and press wires, earnings and regulatory filings.

Registers

SEC EDGAR, Companies House, the LEI register and Wikidata, to pin each organisation to a legal entity.

03The verification standard

The checks behind a record.

Our editorial rule, and the checks behind every record.

01

Trace claims to sources

Numbers, names, dates, affiliations and quotes should point to the sentence in the source that supports them. If they cannot, they come out.

02

Results, not roadmaps

Hardware claims such as qubit counts and gate fidelities are checked against papers and official announcements, and targets are kept apart from what has been shown.

03

Match to registers

In quantum computing and space, organisations are matched to a public register where one exists, such as SEC EDGAR, Companies House, the LEI register or Wikidata.

04

Cross-reference

Funding is checked against official announcements; locations against company headquarters; acquired and defunct companies are marked as such.

05

Hold what fails

Records that fail our checks are held back for review. What cannot be confirmed is left out or clearly marked as unverified.

06

Software and people

We use software, including AI tools, to gather sources and to draft and check copy. Our editors are responsible for what we publish.

04A worked example

One funding report, checked against the filing.

In May 2024 Connecticut business press reported that Quantum Circuits, Inc. of New Haven had raised $26.5 million. This is the funding check applied to that report, using only public documents.

06Corrections and independence

Keeping the record honest.

  • CorrectionsSend the link to the page or profile and the source that shows the right figure to info@hadamard2.com. We check it against the source before we change the record.
  • IndependenceWe don’t change a record’s data because someone pays or asks.

If we can’t trace it to a source, it shouldn’t run.
